Tundish preheating

Gruppo Pedercini designs and manufactures Tundish preheating and drying stations upon customer’s request. All the equipments produced, in relevance with the thermal processes related to combustion, can be used for many applications in the steel industry.

Our technology allows to heat directly or indirectly the nozzles.

• Direct heating: Using traditional high speed burners, all the heat input is moved to the nozzles by slow heating to the refractory.
• Indirect heating: This type of heating is performed with flat flame radiant burners and allows to heat uniformly both refractory and nozzles. This don’t let overheat the nozzles and at the same time it allows to follow a precise and optimal drying curve.

We can provide a complete heating system that includes a control panel for air and combustible gas, flame retardant and self-extinguishing hoses, valves and safety devices, quick couplings for fast and easy assembly / disassembly, manifolds in lengths and quantities different according to your needs.
The system is equipped with an electronic control, in order to check and adjust the heating temperature desired.
Optional, but increasingly used, the system is provided complete with PLC and operator panel. This system allows you to record the drying curve and save it in the archive. Another advantage is the simplicity of the diagnostic and the setting up of the ramps. The system with PLC has the possibility to program automatic ignition.
The preheating tundishes can work with all gases/oil and heavy oil. The reference standards for the execution of the systems are: CE /CSA /NFPA /GHOST. Pcombustion’s preheating and drying systems are certified and manufactured in according to our quality standard UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008.
